UN Report Says Kenya Violence Had Underlying Causes

A new UN report says that accountability and an end to impunity will be key to preventing further outbreaks of violence in Kenya. UN human rights spokesman, Rupert Colville, says the disputed presidential election result triggered the violence but there are underlying problems in Kenya which need to be addressed.
•UN and AU Envoys Forge Ahead with Darfur Peace Process
To bring new life into the peace process in Darfur, the United Nations and African Union envoys held two days of consultations with various parties in Geneva on 17 and 18 March. The envoys say there are still hurdles to overcome before the start of negotiations between the rebel movements and the Sudanese government to resolve the crisis in Darfur.

Cancer is no longer a rich man's disease because changing lifestyles and diets, including increasing consumption of alcohol and tobacco are leading to a surge in the disease in developing countries. IAEA's Angela Leuker reports on some of the efforts to help African countries tackle the disease.
